Executive Director
  •  Friends of Marcy Houses is searching for a new Executive Director.  You can find our job posting on Indeed or Idealist.
Interns
  • Minimum of an enrollment in a bachelor’s degree in human services, criminal justice program or related
    field and experience in social service delivery.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check and work weekly providing case management services with diverse populations.
  • Must be able to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with people in crisis and resistant populations within defined boundaries.
  • Working knowledge of computers, databases, and internet search.
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish (highly desired) and the ability to communicate well (written & verbal)
  • Attend organizational and community-based meetings as required
  • Create and manage client files according to agency policy and procedure.
  • Assist with informational forums within the community and with community partners.
  • Assist in the training and orientation of volunteers, and interns as requested. Other duties assigned.

Community Liason
  • Collaborate with FoMH staff, school leadership and other local stakeholders to build a model where adequate community resources are directed towards children ages 10-14 and their families, in the service of enhancing achievement.
  • Community Liaison work in a team structure, where they collaborate every day to meet children’s’ needs and to learn from one another. Instructors and other staff members work together to make Marcy Houses a safe and positive space for our children and families, and this collaboration is built into the daily life of the families.
  • Manage the partnership with the schools, politicians, precincts, community board, other CBO’s to ensure all opportunities are connected strategically and effectively.
  • Develop, deepen and coordinate community partnerships with varied community based organizations and service providers to meet the identified needs of students, families, and the school.
  • Participate in the data collection, management and analysis on student outcomes, and use data regularly for continuous improvement of the program model.
  • Plan and lead Town Halls and Community partnership meetings, and other formal gatherings for planning and community input (including evenings and weekends).
  • Build positive and trusting relationships with students that affirm their strengths and support their growth.
  • Create, disseminate and promote a calendar of services and activities to be provided in the program, including activities and services during evenings, weekends and in the summer.
  • Engage families and caregivers in supporting the education of their children and the ways in which academic outcomes are enhanced by serving the social-emotional and personal development needs of the child.
  • Manage record-keeping related to the program’s deliverables.
